A moment in prayer brought back memories of my ordination on the Feast of the Precious Blood — and the bond that has endured ever since.

A single moment at dawn revealed again the gentle truth of what I believe, and the grace that makes it matter.

Asked to write on the subject “Pray without ceasing”, I assumed it was a biblical instruction. I discovered it is. The traditional Douay‑Rheims translation uses these exact three words in 1 Thessalonians 5:17. So, what does it mean for me to pray without ceasing?

A reflection on Christ’s invitation to walk the narrow way with courage, trust, and daily faithfulness.
Morning has broken like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird
Praise for the singing
Praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the world.
I take a few sips of my cuppa tea and sing it again. It is quite bright now, and I recall this day in the Catholic Calendar is dedicated to a very special new beginning, the first moment in a new life - of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The angel came to her saying:
The Lord is with you and has greatly
blessed you!
As we hold these moments of revelation close to our hearts, we remember that God’s voice is never distant. It speaks in the quiet, in the unexpected, and in the places where we least expect His presence.
Every encounter — whether through Scripture, through the angels, or through the visions entrusted to the saints — invites us to walk more deeply into His light.
The Lord does not leave us wandering. He draws us gently, steadily, toward the truth that sets us free. And even when the path feels narrow or uncertain, His Spirit remains our guide, our comfort, and our strength.
May this reflection open a space within us where grace can rest, where hope can rise, and where faith can deepen. May we continue to listen for His voice, trust His leading, and follow His call with courage.
And may the light of Christ be the quiet flame that guides our steps.
